Model UN Conference

On Thursday, Jan.15th, 14 Catholic Central students will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to participate in the University of Michigan's four-day Model UN conference. Students will participate in this United Nations-simulation by representing several different assigned countries in UN committees ranging from the economy, environment, social and humanitarian affairs, and disarmament and international security. This year, students were assigned the difficult task of representing countries Liberia, Syria, and East Timor. Each student was assigned both a committee and a country by MU to research and prepare papers on for the simulation. While in Ann Arbor, they will participate in authentic UN meetings to discuss the given global topics and problems. Each delegate will then contribute to conversation according to their country over the four-day conference.

This is the largest group yet that Catholic Central has brought to the conference. Students are working hard researching and preparing their stances for the conference. We're all excited to head to Ann Arbor for the Model UN trip!
