U.S. History - Speakeasy Immersion

The MAC Classroom turned into 1930 Chicago, and we were invited to the fanciest club in the city. We were surprised by the appearances of glamour and fame: Clara Bow - you might know her as "The IT Girl", The Bad Girl of the Silver Screen Louise Brooks, Al Capone, Charles Lindbergh, and Babe Ruth to name a few. Pop culture was discussed, the World Series won by the Jimmie Foxx led Philadelphia Athletics, the advancements in flight, motion pictures and music were all discussed. Talk of the hard times with the stock market crash in '29, the end of the Great War, some say the war to end all wars. Flappers and the men showed off the fashion of the time, and tried to new dance moves while listening to Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington among others.

Make Your Bid To Support St. Charles

St. Charles' June Jubilee and Auction is now open! The auction will run from May 20, 2015 to June 6, 2015, with proceeds going to support the students and excellence of St. Charles School. Auction items range from vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise.

Now is your chance to not only get all the great items you want, but to do it knowing you are helping support our organization and mission.  So, tell your friends, family, community. Let the bidding begin!

Congratulations Lauren Reesman!

Lauren broke the state record last night in the wheelchair shot put with a throw of 14'1", breaking the previous mark by 7".  For her to officially break the record she will have to throw that at the state meet, but that shouldn't be a problem!  Way to go!!

Spring Blood Drive

Today Catholic Central High School’s Student Council hosted their annual spring blood drive. Dozens of CC students, teachers, parents, and community members stopped in to donate blood and help others. The BloodCenter of Wisconsin relies on donations like these to supply blood products to the Wisconsin community hospitals and patients in need. We are very proud that Catholic Central was able to help the BloodCenter toward its goal!

Student Council will host another blood drive this fall so watch for the information!

US History Immersion -- World's Fair

Just off the Boardwalk, PT Barnum brought his circus to the classroom. Acts such as Annie Oakley, Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, Harry Houdini, General Tom Thumb and Chang and Eng made their way to the show. We also had sports greats such as Bobby Jones, Ty Cobb and prize fighters on hand. Food/Drink innovators were on hand, the ice cream cone, John Pemberton and Milton Hershey. Lastly we had great minds of the time, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, and Albert Einstein to name a few.

Summer Phy Ed

Just a reminder that if you are planning in taking Physical Education: Individual Activities & Personal Fitness this summer, you need to let Ms. Reyzer know and get  your $150.00 payment in ASAP.  Some students indicated on their course request forms that they wanted to take summer phy ed, but as the end of the school year and the start of this course is fast approaching, we need to get a more concrete number of students with payment.

Please see the flyer below that was sent out regarding this course including dates, times, and student responsibilities.  If you have any questions about this, please call Mrs. Phillips.
