Translation of Article:

Best wishes to all the kind members of the Italian Community Center.

We are the students of the Italian class at Catholic Central High School in Burlington:  Sarah, Francesca, Greg, Jack, and Matt.  Our instructor is Mrs. Rosa Tadeo.  We are sending you news from our class.  Greg and Jack are second year students and for Sarah, Francesca, and Matt, this is our first year.

What do we do in class?  We study grammar, we read to practice pronunciation, we speak together, and we play games to learn the language.

In past weeks we have studied the family, the house, the city, and food.  We also study Italian culture.  For example, we studied modern design of furniture in Italian houses.  We also do different interesting projects.  In the lesson for foods, we made green spinach noodles in class.  They were delicious for lunch!  Studying the calendar, we enjoyed learning about the Carnevale of Venice.
Now we are speaking about work:  What types of work are there in Italy?  What jobs would be like to do?  We have also studied about emigration to America by watching a part of a very interesting program:  “The Italian Americans.”

We are sending you photos from our “project pasta.”  Thank you very much for your help for our class.  We love to study Italian!

Yours,

Sarah Counsell, Francesca Frederick, Greg Sember
Jack DeSmidt, Matt Cherek
