For the upcoming Prom and Graduation season, Operation Click will be holding what is called the CARTS program & host a teen driving awareness assembly. The CARTS (Community Alcohol Resistance for Teens and Students) program uses hands on approaches to educate teen drivers about the perils of drinking and driving.
On April 17th, Operation Click will hold an all school assembly involving the following things:
- Showcase our Public Service Announcement/Video on safe driving for teens;
- Mr. Tim McCourt will come to talk with our students about teen driving;
- CARTS Program - How is works, Sign Up, Requirements, etc.
The assembly will be at 9:45 in Topper Hall. We welcome anyone who would like to attend the assembly to learn more information!
On April 20th & 21st, students will experience the CARTS program using specially equipped golf carts. Students wear Fatal Vision goggles and drive a closed course to test their judgment, ability, reflexes, and instinct. Fatal Vision goggles are worn to simulate the effects of alcohol on eyesight and perception and range in strength from imitating the legal blood alcohol limit to three times that limit.
Also, if you are interested in seeing the CARTS program or learning more about it, please contact Ms. Racky.
