U.S. History - Speakeasy Immersion

The MAC Classroom turned into 1930 Chicago, and we were invited to the fanciest club in the city. We were surprised by the appearances of glamour and fame: Clara Bow - you might know her as "The IT Girl", The Bad Girl of the Silver Screen Louise Brooks, Al Capone, Charles Lindbergh, and Babe Ruth to name a few. Pop culture was discussed, the World Series won by the Jimmie Foxx led Philadelphia Athletics, the advancements in flight, motion pictures and music were all discussed. Talk of the hard times with the stock market crash in '29, the end of the Great War, some say the war to end all wars. Flappers and the men showed off the fashion of the time, and tried to new dance moves while listening to Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington among others.
